A painting inspired by classic Japanese representations of flowers decorating folding screens and sliding doors. At first there were only flowers, but my Father, the owner of a large and beautiful garden, said with the Chinese Emperor that where there are flowers, there must be butterflies. And yes - it is a kind of scherzo that makes us both smile.
