Dream Away
private collection, Maryland / USA
After the end of the minimalist "Origami" series, there was a certain creative impasse...
Fortunately, at a friend's house, I came across an album devoted to the works of Hayao Miyazaki and I remembered the joy of letting my imagination run wild and playing with colors and patterns.
Erin from Maryland/USA, who purchased this painting through SaatchiArt Gallery; she wrote to me to say that my "Dream Away" was hung next to the original Warhol.
The story of the Cow is that Erin's husband's grandmother lived in New York above a small gallery selling works by the unknown Andy Warhol for pennies. She liked the cow so much that she immediately hung it in her living room, and then you know - grandma sat and watched the cow gain in value...
Now the family treasure is hanging in the new house, accompanied by my Creatures from behind the wardrobe, and as Erin writes she and her husband enjoy it every day, supporting them in their search for a chandelier, wallpaper, sofa, etc... I understand it! Buy the piece of art first and than adjust the rest!
I hope that discovering talents is a family tradition...
