The "Roof of the World" series is inspired by the book by Jon Krakauer „Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mount Everest Disaster”.

A large-format painting with a gold abstract background made of schlagmetal, a limited color palette and sharp brushstrokes makes a huge impression when viewed directly. The golden sky changes the mood of the mountains depending on the lighting.
In addition to schlagmetal, white oil paint and brown mordant were used; the HDF background is also visible in the composition.
